Analytics without cookies

This site uses Plausible Analytics to count visits and see which pages are popular. Plausible is built to work without cookies: it does not set one, and it does not track you individually or across other sites. It only collects aggregate, anonymous statistics such as page view counts and referring sites. Plausible derives your country, region and city from your IP address, then discards the IP: it does not use cookies or store personal data. Because no cookie is set and no individual is tracked, this does not require cookie consent under UK PECR, and no consent banner is shown.

What this site stores instead

A few small preferences are kept in your browser's localStorage, not in a cookie: ss-saved (the kits, build guides, reading paths and eras you have saved to My Workshop), ss-progress:guide:<slug> (which steps you have ticked off on a build guide), and ss-std (your Lamp view display preference). That data stays on your device, is never sent to SprueStack or any third party, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data for spruestack.com. Storing it this way, only in response to something you asked the site to do, is treated as strictly necessary and does not require cookie consent under UK PECR.

If that changes

If a future version adds affiliate tracking, advertising, or any analytics that sets a cookie, this page will be updated first to list exactly what is set, by whom, and how to opt out, and a consent banner will be added before any such cookie is set.
