Guadalcanal
182d Inf, On CAM Div left, has gained slightly more than 1,000 yards since entering line on 17th, but gap exists between it and 6th Marines. 147th Inf, upon relief at Koh Pt by Americal Rcn Sq, moves to Pt Cruz area.

Continuing toward Tripoli, Br Eighth Army regains contact with enemy. Coastal force reaches Homs while column on left presses toward Tarhuna. 22d Armd Brig, in reserve at Zliten, prepares to drive through 51st Div-the coastal force.
